Obituary, Waynesburg Republican (Waynesburg, PA), May 12, 1910:
Mrs. Matilda Grim, widow of Capt Armstrong Grim, deceased, died at her home in Carmichaels, Wednesday, May 4, aged 89 years. Her death was due to an attack of grippe from which she was only ill a week.
Mrs. Grim was a graduate of Greene Academy of Carmichaels and also of a college in St Louis. For a number of years she was engaged in teaching in the public schools of this county and was widely known for her educational attainments. She was married twice, her first husband's name being Watson who died many years ago and the second Grim.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Eliza Carson of Fayette County and a niece and four nephews as follows: Miss Anna Moore of Uniontown, William and Charles Lincoln of Carmichaels, Luther Lincoln of West Virginia and Horace G Lincoln of Washington. The service was held at 2 o'clock. Interment at Laurel Point Cemetery.
