Obituary from Funeral/Memory Card:
“John R. Nelson, aged 74 years, of Graysville, died at 12:25 A. M. Thursday, March 22, 1956, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital, after a lingering illness.
Mr. Nelson was born June 15, 1881, in Richhill Township, a son of Rufus and Eveline Grim nelson.
He was a farmer by trade and lived all his life in Gray and Richhill townships. He was a member of the Fairview Methodist church.
He married Grace Filby Nelson June 7, 1911. She survives.
Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons, John Rudolph Nelson, at home; Russell S. (Jack) Nelson, of Washington, R. D. 6; one grandson, and one sister, Mrs. Jesse Farrell, of Graysville.”179
