“Roy E. Staggers, Sr., 72, of Dunbar, RD 1, formerly of Wind Ridge, died at 10:40 A.M. Monday, July 30, 1990, in Uniontown, following a long illness.
He was born November 28, 1917, in Richhill Township, a son of Clarence R. and Rae Nelson Staggers.
He graduated from Richhill Township High School in Wind ridge and received a City and Guild Baking Certificate from a baking school in Blackpool, England.
Mr. Staggers was a retired employee of the Texas Easern Transmission Corp.
He was a veteran of WW II, having served with the U. S. Army Air Force in England and France.
Mr. Staggers was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church.
On January 15, 1945, he married Marjorie H. Hayes, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Roy E. Staggers, Jr. of Chestnut Ridge, and Terry J. Staggers of Monarch; three daughters, Mrs. Ken (Pam) Heckman of Woodbridge, Va., Mrs. George (Sandy) Burris of Cameron, W. Va.; and Mrs. Wes (Debbie) Whiting of Monarch; eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Fessler and Mrs. Betty Patterson, both of Canton, Ohio.
Deceased are four brothers, Herbert, Raymond, Arthur and Donald Staggers, and one grandson, Wesley D. Whiting.”
