“Whooping Cough Fatal To Gladys Staggers
Waynesburg, Sept. 5.—Gladys Irene Staggers, aged five months and 13 days, died Friday, September 5, at the home of her parents, Clarence Randolph Staggers and Rae Nelson Staggers, of Richhill township. Whooping cough was the cause of death. She is of a family of nine children, seven of whom survive, as follows: Herbert, Roy, Mary, Raymond, Arthur, Betty and Donald.
Private funeral services will be held at the Staggers home Saturday, September 6, at 2 o’clock. The services will be conducted by Rev. A. M. Riggs, of Wind Ridge. Interment will be in the Fairview cemetery.”179
