Obituary:
“H. Ray McGlumphy, aged 67 years, of Wind Ridge, died at 8 P.M. Thursday, Aug. 17, 1967, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital following a serious illness of the past 10 days.
He was born April 4, 1900, at Simpson, W. Va., a son of the late William R. and Lorena Moran McGlumphy.
His wife, Mildred Nelson McGlumphy, whom he married June 20, 1923, survives.
In 1929, Mr. McGlumphy and his father established McGlumphy and Son, the first tire recapping shop in Greene county which is located at Wind Ridge. Following the death of his father, Mr. McGlumphy continued to operate the tire and recapping shop.
He was a member of the Fairview Methodist Church and the Richhill Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Mildred McGlumphy, are three sisters, Mrs. Gayle McCartney, of Waynesburg; Mrs. Elva Baldwin, Of Wind Ridge, and Mrs. Wilma Kerr, of Wind Ridge, and several nieces and nephews.
One sister and one brother are deceased.
Funeral services, Sudnay, Aug. 20, 1967, at 1:30 P.M. in the Robert L. Lantz Funeral Home, officiating Clergyman, Rev. Frederick Burchell. Pallbearers, Paul Whipkey, Dwight Durbin, Harvey Ferrell, Edward Mitchell, Cecil Jacobs, Paul Hennen. Interment Fairview Cemetery.”
