Obituary (possibly); it identifies him as son of Abraham & Martha Chess Staggers. Dates are correct, wife’s name is same, as well as sons, and brother Peter Staggers.

Waynesburg, May 12 [1939[ - John Staggers, 83, died at 10:30 o’clock this morning in the Greene County Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Staggers was born in Jackson Township, Feb. 22, 1856. He was a son of Abraham and Martha Chess Staggers. He was a well known farmer, and spent practically all his life in Aleppo Township. His wife, Margaret L. Smith Staggers, is dead.

Surviving are two sons, William and Samuel, of Aleppo, and one brother, Peter Staggers, of Bristoria.

Friends will be received at the Hoge and Garrison Funeral Home, West high street, Waynesburg, until Sunday, when services will be held at 2 P.M. at the Long Run Church, near Bristoria, in charge of the Rev. Mr. Bush. Burial will be in the Long Run Cemetery.
