Obituary:
“Thelma Ullom Riggs
Was a clerk at Caldwell’s store for 20 years
Thelma Ullom Riggs, 90, of 251 Crest Avenue, Washington, died at 7:15 p.m. Monday, October 11, 1993, in Washington Hospital.
She was born January 29, 1903, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of Lantz H. and Maud Hinerman Ullom.
She was a member of First Christian Church of Washington and the Christian Women’s Fellowship and Class 11 of the church.
Mrs. Riggs graduated from Washington High School and was a clerk at the former Caldwell’s store in Washington for 20 years.
She was a life member and former worthy matron of Lincoln Chapter 112 of the Order of the Eastern Star and a life member of Bethesda White Shrine of Jerusalem.
On September 22, 1926, she married Francis T. Riggs, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Carla J. Riggs at home; a son, Kyle D. Riggs at home; a sister, Mildred U. Day of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Reynol V. Ullom; and a sister, Monalea Ullom Minor.”
