R. B. Cooper Dies Monday In Hospital

R. Blaine Cooper, 64, of Stockport Route 2, a retired Columbus school teacher, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday in White Cross Hospital in Columbus where he had been admitted Sunday.

Mr. Cooper was born April 25, 1895, a son of J. C. and Maggie Cooper. He retired from school teaching two years ago and had been a resident of Morgan County since that time.

He received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and his master’s degree from the Ohio State University.

Survivng are his widow, the former Laura McElhiney; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Jane Lawson of Cincinnati and Mrs. Marjorie Hans of Columbus; four brothers, Reese of Washington, D. C., Wilbur, a former pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, of Pittsburgh, Raymond of Fremont, and Floyd of South Bend, Ind.; and several grandchildren.

Mr. Cooper was a veteran of World War I.

The body was removed to the Miller Funeral Home in McConnelsville.

Clarence Cooper’s Brother Dies At 64

Clarence Cooper, Ross high principal, was notified last night that his brother, Russell B. Cooper, 64, had died at 1 p.m. Monday in White Cross hospital, Columbus.

The Clarence Cooopers will leave either tonight or early Wednesday morning to attend funeral services set for 2 p.m. THursday in the Miller funeral home, McConnellsville, O., home of the deceased.

A veteran of World War I as a captain in the U. S. Army in France, Russell Cooper taught many years after the war in Columbus, O. public schools. He had a heart operation a year ago. However, the Ross principal said his brother’s death was unexpected.
