Obituary:
Dora F. Staggers, 77, Spraggs, RD1, died after a long illness at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 1980, in the West Virginia University Medical Center, Morgantown.
She was a daughter of William H. Phillips and Sarah Ellen Phillips Phillips and was born april 27, 1903, in Wayne Township. She resided all her life in Greene and Washington Counties and was a member of the Phillips United Methodist Church at Spraggs.
Her husband, Eddie Purman Staggers, whom she married January 24, 1972, died May 22, 1964.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Rogers, a granddaughter, Mary Louise Phillips, and two step-grandsons, Bobby and Johnny Rogers, all of Spraggs, RD 1, two brothers, Edward Phillips of Canton, Ohio and Clark Phillips of Minerva, Ohio; and a sister, Mrs. Rebecca Hearen of Spraggs, RD 1.
Two brothers, Brian and John Phillips, and a sister Emma, are deceased.”
443 “Friends of Dora F. Staggers, 77, of Spraggs, who died Sunday, June 29, 1980, will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Robert L. Lantz Funeral Home in Rogersville, where services will be held at 1 P.M. on Wednesday with the Rev. David Biondi officiating. Burial will be in Phillips Cemetery.”
