Obituary:
“John Roy Morris, 75, of Wind Ridge RD 1, formerly of Graysville, died at 2:05 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 1991, in the home of his daughter, Dolly Wade.
Born Aug. 9, 1915, in Delphine, Jackson Township, he was a son of Caldwell and Cassie Stahl Morris.
He had resided in Baltimore, Md., for several years before returning to Greene County in 1980.
Mr. Morris was a member of First Christian Church in Cameron, W. Va.
Before retiring in 1977, he was employed as a press operator for 21 years at Vulcan Hart Manufacturing Co. in Baltimore.
On Dec. 19, 1949, he married Louisa McCloud, who died March 10, 1989.
he was a veteran of World War II, serving as a private in the US Army.
Surviving are three sons, Roger D. Thomas of Wind Ridge RD 1, Jack Morris of South Carolina and Eugene Morris of North Carolina; three daughters, Mrs. Robert “Dolly” Wade and Mrs. Ronald “Darlene” Jacobs, both of Wind Ridge RD 1 and Mrs. Edward “Maxine” Porter of Rixford; two brothers, Samuel Morris of Tampa, Florida, and Harold Morris of Wind Ridge; three sisters, Mrs. Happy “Goldie” Wise of Garards Fort, Margaret Jacobs of Alliance, Ohio, and Mrs. Dan “Sylvia” Carter of New Freeport; and six grandchildren.
Deceased are five brothers, William Morris, Earl Morris, Barney Morris, Lawrence Morris and Dorsey Morris.”
