Misc. Notes
Notes from Richard Smith:
“Margaret was married at an early age in the late 1930's. She divorced a few years later and remarried. She worked different jobs including Warwick China Factory, a waitress, a hobby shop, Kraus Stamping Plant, and a secretary and book keeper for City Window Cleaning Company. She later took over her mother's trailer park. She was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church (former Chaplain Street Methodist Church) for over fifty years. Margaret Ann was divorced since 1951 and devoted her life to her children and her family. She later said that it was her children who gave her the most happiness. She loved to be in her garden where she could cultivate and see things grow. She was especially fond of her rose garden just outside her bedroom window. She would say that she could smell the roses as she was waking. She also loved wild flowers, and when she would return from her daughter Judy's house in Frederick, MD, she would bring back those flowers and she would pamper them in her garden. Margaret was cremated and laid to rest at Parkview Memorial Gardens in June of 1998. Richard had already returned to Germany; Judy, Jackie, granddaughter Michele were present to put her to rest. At Richard's request a little of her ashes were placed in her rose garden near her bedroom window. She will always be part of that ground, still nurturing the roses.”
