“Howard D. Queen
Howard Dewey Queen, 77, of Parkersburg passed away Jan. 26, 2007, at his home.
He was born March 7, 1929, in Monongalia County, W.Va., a son of the late John H.D. and Monie F. McCartney Queen. He retired from O. Ames after more than 44 years. He was a member of United Steelworkers Local 1651. He loved hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carmen Faye Grimm Queen; one daughter, June Boswell and her husband, Larry, of Bristol, W.Va.; two sons, Thomas Queen and his wife, Mildred, and Mike Queen and his wife, Marty, all of Parkersburg; 11 grandchildren, Kim Evans of Vienna, Michael Jones of Washington, W.Va., Conan Queen of Parkersburg, Mindy Hendershot of Waverly, Sylvia Owens of Parsons, W.Va., Rebecca and Alice Queen of Parkersburg, Jennifer Kotarski of Vienna, Misty Miller of South Carolina, Shannon Boswell of Salem, W.Va., and Jason Boswell of Clarksburg; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dewey Queen Jr., Fain Queen, Leland Queen and Rick Queen, all of Parkersburg; and one sister, Janet Hayhurst of Parkersburg. Also surviving is his loving pet, Boots.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Cary Queen.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.”
