Frank Horner Jr., 74, of Pennsboro, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at his residence, following an extended illness.
Frank was born July 16, 1946 in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Frank Horner, Sr. and Lucille (McCullough) Horner. Frank was retired from American Cyanamid where he worked in maintenance for 31 years in both Belmont, WV and Marietta, OH. After retirement, Frank worked for Ritchie Concrete and later for Perkins Supply where he drove truck for both companies. He was a proud graduate of Pennsboro High School with the class of 1965 and was a member of the Pennsboro Church of Christ. Frank has been a longtime member of the Pennsboro Vol. Fire Department and served recently on the Ritchie County Fairgrounds Board. He greatly enjoyed dirt track races and antique engines for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sara (Davis) Horner; his children, Mindy Davis (John) of Pennsboro, WV; Tina Seese of Ellenboro, WV; Bub Horner (Brenda) of Ellenboro, WV, and R.D. Cox (Teresa) of St. Marys, WV; step son, Trenton Gainer (Lauren) of Parkersburg, WV; his grandchildren, Amanda Davis, Andrea Davis, Gib Jenkins, Anthony Winland, Michael Winland, Sarah Gainer, Elyse Gainer, Quinn Gainer, Vivian Gainer; great grandchildren, Zoey and Kaige Winland, Rylan Winland, and Kinsley Lowther; sister, Fern Sellers (Francis) of Pennsboro, WV; sister in law, Betty Horner of Pennsboro, WV, beloved friend, Nancy Mayfield of Pennsboro, WV, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Horner, Sr.
Funeral services will be 3pm, Sunday, June 27, 2021, at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home in Pennsboro, WV with Evang. Terry Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Harmony Masonic Cemetery in Pennsboro, WV. Visitation will be from 11am-3pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
