Lula Belle Higgins Simonton Lewis, 79 of Parkersburg passed away August 23, 2015 at the Camden Clark Medical Center Memorial Campus.
She was born in Pleasants Co. WV. the daughter of the late James Thurman and Artie Lee Locke Higgins.
She for many years owned and operated Gene and Belle's Body Shop with her husband.
She is survived by her children, Lee G. Myers of Vienna, Bonita J. Lowe (Timothy) of Belpre, Eugena B. Lockhart (Linden) of Belleville and Eugene H. Lewis Jr. of Walker. Her grandchildren, Sarah Myers Sprouse (Preston), Christina Davis (Brent), Rebecca Neal (Drew), Keith Lowe, Amanda Sue Lockhart (Jed) and Linden Lockhart II (Hannah). Her great grandchildren, Lillian Grace Myers, Carter William Joseph Sprouse, Lance Davis, Lacey Davis, Mark Landis, Isabelle Eddy, Kiara Neal, P.J. Lowe, Aubrey Lowe, Jimmy Carson, Eric Carson, Trenton Carson and Stormy Carson. One sister, Winnie Mae Shingleton of St. Marys.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Franklin D. Simonton and Eugene H. Lewis Sr. Two sons, Harold Franklin Higgins and James William Simonton. Her brothers, James Ralph Higgins, Harold Woodrow Higgins and Oran Blair Higgins. Her sisters, Opal Cumbridge Mercer, Rosa Butler Davis and Wilma Kathleen Davis.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00pm at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at St. Marys, WV. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8pm.
