Dale E. Butler (77) of New Matamoras, Ohio left this world to enter his heavenly home Tuesday September 29, 2009 at 2:45am surrounded by his wife and family.
He was born January 21, 1932 in St. Marys, W.Va. the son of William S. and Rosa(Higgins)Butler. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church. He was employed by Ormet Aluminum Corporation and retired after 35 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time on his farm and with his family.
He was married 54 years to the love of his life, Marjorie Earley Butler on February 19, 1955 who survives with his children Marjorie Hartline (Nelson), Celeste Jackson (Jeffery), and Gregory Butler (Kim), all of New Matamoras, Ohio. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nelson Troy Hartline (Amanda), Zachary Hartline, Ashley, Shawn, and Brittney Jackson, Misty, Gregory, Jacob, and William Butler, and great grandchildren Espn and Ethan Hartline. Also surviving, his siblings Viola McDonald, Jim Higgins, Imogene Felton (Gene), and Ethel Weekley (Tom), and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and treasured friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and step father, Lawerence Davis, a sister, Patsy Potts and his father and mother-in–law, Harold and Jesse Earley.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 at Hadley Funeral Home, New Matamoras with Rev. James K. Smith and Ron Weber officiating. Burial will be in the Matamoras Cemetery.
