Newport — Rosa Davis, 73, of Newport died Monday in Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Pleasants County, W.Va., to James and Artie Lock Higgins. She was a member of Bloomfield United Brethren Church.
Se is survived by two sons, Dale E. Butler of Matamoras and Jimmy Higgins of Newport; four daughters, Viola McDonald of Akron, Patsy Moore of Columbus, Imogene Felton of Marietta and Ethel Weekley of St. Marys, W.Va.; four sisters, Opal Mercer of East Liverpool, Wilma Davis and Winnie Shingleton, both of St. Marys, W.Va., and Mrs. Gene Lewis of Parkersburg; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William S. Butler; her second husband, Lawrence Davis; three brothers; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Ruttencutter Funeral Home aat St. Marys, W.Va., with the Rev. Michael Byus officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park at Marietta. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
