Norma June Owens, age 83, formerly of Glenmoor and Rogers, passed away at the Vista Center in Lisbon on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, after a brief Illness.

Living most of her life in the area, Mrs. Owens was born in Beaver, Pa., on Nov. 21, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Hugh and Mary (Brown) Campbell.

She retired from the Homer Laughlin China Co. where she worked as a wire stripper and had attended the East Liverpool High School.

Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband, Donzel E. Owens Sr. on June 22, 2007; they were married on Dec. 14, 1946.

Survivors include two sons, Donzel E. Owens Jr. of Lisbon and Jeffrey D. Owens and his wife, Lois, of Salem; one daughter, Gloria J. Boso of Lisbon; two brothers, Jake Campbell and his wife, Donna, of Glenmoor and William Campbell of Lakeland, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Tracey Blankenship, Michael Owens, Tina and Jamie Adkins, Soni and Jamie Livolsi, Carrie and Jason Hawkins, Jeff and Stacey Owens, Josh and Stephanie Owens, Preston and Casey Owens, and Rachael and Justin Quinn; 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by one son, Danny R. Owens; one brother, Ben Campbell, and five sisters, Joyce Burch, Evelyn Crane, Rosella Shook, Margaret Kennedy, and Dot Grimes Burns.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, with the Rev. Paul Sturm officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Family will be present to visit with friends on Tuesday at the funeral home in Calcutta from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m..
