Floyd G. Meredith, 84, of Charlevoix, died July 12, 1987, at Bortz Health Care Facility, Petoskey.

Funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at the Winchester Funeral Home, Charlevoix. The Rev. David W. Yingling will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Grand Rapids.

Mr. Meredith was born Sept. 15, 1902, in Molehill, W. Va., the son of John and Blanche (Pierpoint) Meredith. In 1923, he married the former Edna F. Owens. The couple moved to Grand Rapids in 1939 where Mr. Meredith was employed at the Doehler-Jarvis Corp. as a millwright for 21 years. He retired in 1968. Mrs. Meredith preceded him in death in October 1967.

Mr. Meredith had lived in the Charlevoix area since 1983.

He is survived by: one son, Dale W. Meredith of Charlevoix; four grandsons and six granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-greath grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Meredith of Sun City, Ariz. and Hugh Meredith of New Baltimore, Mich.; two sisters, Vereta Swenson of Phoenix, Ariz. and Mrs Leffie Eliott of Harrisville.

The family suggests memorials to the United Methodist Church. Envelopes for that purpose are available at the Winchester Funeral Home where friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 14.
