Dale W. Meredith Dale W. Meredith, 80, of Charlevoix, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, at the United Methodist Church in Charlevoix. The Rev. Todd Thompson will officiate and interment will be in the spring at Brookside Cemetery, Charlevoix. Dale was born Aug. 15, 1924, in Nelsonville, Ohio, the son of Floyd and Edna (Owens) Meredith. In 1942, he graduated from Union High School in Grand Rapids. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army Air Force and served during World War II as a gunnery sergeant on a B-25 Bomber. After the war, Dale married the former Estelle Abel on Jan. 3, 1951, in Grand Rapids, and they moved to Charlevoix in 1959. Estelle preceded him in death on Nov. 15, 1978. Dale worked as a purchasing agent at Will-Flow in Charlevoix for more than 28 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Charlevoix. On Sept. 28, 1985, Dale married the former Cliftene Stuart in Harrisville. He is survived by his wife, Cliftene; son Dale G. (Sandra A.) Meredith, of Charlevoix; grandchildren, Christopher D. and Krystal A. Meredith of Charlevoix; stepchildren, Terry (Jeni) Stewart of Hohenwald, Tenn., Rose (Sam) Huerta of San Jose, Calif., Susan (Walter) Smith of Delmar, Iowa, Jack Stuart of Yantes, Texas, Carol Dickerson of Alta Loma, Calif., Dianne LeDieux of Ellijay, Ga., Laurel Stuart of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and 12 stepgrandchildren. Dale was preceded in death by a stepson, Mark Stuart, and a step- daughter, Ruth Anger. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church in Charlevoix. Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix is serving the family.
