Obituary, from the collection of Athaliah Clovis Hoy:
“Andrew J. Gillogly, 81, of 685 1/2 Fayette Street, Washington, died Monday, April 6, 1981, at 8:45 p.m. in the Washington hospital Extended Care Facility. He had been in failing helath for five years.
He was born March 23, 1900, in Holbrook, Greene County, a son of A. Perry and Jennie Lippincott Gillogly. Mr. Gillogly had formerly been employed with the State Highway Department road construction crew. Before retiring he had been a farmer. Mr. Gillogly was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church of Holbrook.
On August 17, 1921, he married Mary Scott Gillogly, who durvives. Also surviving are two sons, Jack S. Gillogly of Holbrook and William P. Gillogly of Aliquippa: two daughters, Jeannette, wife of Russell Staggers of Waynesburg and Genevera, wife of Frank Huffman of Washington; and 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is one daughter, Hope S. Gump.”
