From her obituary:
“Mrs. Mariah Jane Myers, 86, of Alma, died at her home Tuesday May 25. Her husband George Myers preceded her in death. She was born in Tyler County, September 24, 1867, a daughter of Jessie and Phoebia Hamilton Grimm and was a member of the Alma EUB Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ottie Ferrell of Alma and Mrs. Lexie Lemasters of Middlebourne; two sons, John Myers of Painesville, Ohio and C. O. Myers of Alma; a sister, Mrs. Celia McDougal of Alma; a brother Alf Grimm of Middlebourne; 28 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday May 27 at 2 pm at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. John Tinney officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with the Furbee Funeral Home of Tyler City in charge.”57
