Mae Belle Stanley Grimm

Mrs. Bruce Fulton Grimm, 85, of Manhattan Beach, CA, a former resident of Pleasants County, died May 21. She had resided in Manhattan Beach for the past 24 years and was the widow of the late Bruce Fulton Grimm of St. Marys. Mrs. Grimm was the former Mae Belle Stanley and was born in Calcutta.
She is survived by two children, Bruce Fulton Grimm, Jr., of Manhattan Beach, and Bette Grimm Murray of Mission Viejo, CA.
Mrs. Grimm and her husband resided in Washington, D.C. and Matick, MA, during the years where she spent much of her time as a “Gray Lady” volunteer in the Red Cross serving hospitals in those cities.
She had spent many years as a Religious Science Practitioner under the direction of the late Ernest Holmes, founder of the Institute of Religious Science and Philosophy, at their headquarters in Los Angeles.
Her father, John Robert Stanley, taught school in St. Marys, and her uncle, Allen H. Stanley, opereated the first dry goods store in St. Marys. Her father-in-law was Dr. A. S. Grimm, one of the first “horse and buggy” doctors who built the first and only hospital in St. Marys.
Her brother, J. Robert Stanley, and two sisters, Lucille Dotson and Martha Smith, preceded her in death by a few years.

Grimm, Mae Belle Stanley, widow of Bruce F. Grimm; passed away May 20, 1982; resident of Manhattan Beach for 24 years; Practitioner of Religious Science Church for over 20 years. Survived by daughter, Mrs. Donald G. Murry of Mission Viejo; son, Bruce F. Grimm, Jr. of Manhattan Beach; 2 grandsons, G. Keith Murray of Wichita, Kansas; and William R. Grimm of Stamford, Conn.; granddaughter, Mrs. Kenneth Ude of San Gabriel; also surviving are 5 great grandchildren.
