John is two homes away from son David Crockett Grim.
John does not appear in the 1880 PA Census. Connie Staggers Andersen gives his birth date as ca. 1792.
439John’s will was dated Feb. 20, 1869, and he identifies himself as John Grim of Richhill Township, Greene Co., PA. In the will he leaves the following:
“I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Jane, all my real personal or mixed estate to have and to hold, I also give to hur the use and incum of all both my real and personal estate to have and to hold the same during her natural life. Then at ther decease I will and bequeath that my household goods shall be divided equal betwixt my two daughters, Martha and Elizabeth, after giving my grand-son, Franklin Grim, that now lives with me a bed and stead eaquel in value to the rest of my other beds. Then I bequeath that my executors shall put at public sale all my real and personal estate, collect the money pay my debts if any, make deed for the same. Then I whish or order my executors to pay out of the proceeds thereof two hundred dollars Apease to each of my daughters, namely: Martha and Elizabeth, and two hundred to be divided eaqualy among my daughter, Levicys heirs, Viz: Lucinda, John, WIlliam, Isaac, Walter, Clark and Eli. The money goin to Levicys heirs is to be left in the hands of the executors until each of them arives at twenty one years of age, then the balance of the proceeds of my estate I will and bequeath to be devided equally betwixt my four sons and grand sons above named, the mony going to my grand son, Franklin Grim, is to be put at intrest and sucered by my executors till he is twenty one years of age. Names of my sons, Morgan, Isaac N., David, and Mary, Harvy.”
He appointed Eli Jacobs and Isaac N. Grim as his executors.
