Obituary from Democrat Messenger, Waynesburg, PA, January 4, 1918:
“Isaac N. Grim, a well known retired farmer, of Bristoria, died at his home Thursday afternoon, January 3, 1918, at 1 o’clock, aged 84 years. His death was due to the infirmities incident to old age. Mr. Grim was twice married, his first wife being Miss Elizabeth Funk, a sister of Levi and Jonathan Funk, of Waynesburg. To this union were born five children, all of whom survive. They are Armstrong Grim, Mrs. David McCracken and Mrs. David Whipkey, of Bristoria; Mrs. Effie Riggle, of Cameron, W. Va., and Joshua Grim, of Ashtabula, Ohio. For his second wife he married Miss Catherine Hoge Kent, who survives. To this union were born three children, all of whom are living. They are Mrs. Laura Lewis, of Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. Harry Y. Murray, of Warren, O., and Garfield Grim, of Springfield, O. He is also survived by two stepsons, R. V. Kent, of Waynesburg, R. D. 3. In politics Mr. Grim was a staunch Republican and always took an active interest in the activities of the party. He was actively engaged in farming until about two years ago. He was a member of the Church of God. Funeral services will be held Sunday morning at 10 o’clock.”
