Obituary, Democrat Messenger (Waynesburg, PA), Friday, October 9, 1931:

Mrs. Hettie Virginia Whipkey aged 62 years, five months and eight days, widow of David Whipkey, died at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday Oct. 6, 1931, in her home near Long Run, Richhill Township.

Mrs. Whipkey was a daughter of Isaac N. Grim and Elizabeth Funk Grim. She was born and reared in Aleppo township, but after her marriage to David Whipkey resided in Richhill township. Her husband died 10 years ago. The following children survive: Mrs. Ella Loar, of Kirby; Miss Lulu Whipkey, at home; Mrs. Mary McCullough, of Sycamore; Mrs. Anna Caldwell, of Tridelphia, W. Va.; Mrs. Mildred Staggers, of Holbrook. The following brothers, sisters, half-brothers and half-sisters also survive: Armstrong Grim, of Ashtabula, Ohio; Mrs. Ella McCracken, of Wind Ridge; Josiah Grim, of Ashtabula, Ohio; Mrs. Effie Riggle, of Cameron, W. Va.; Mrs. Laura Brewer, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Mattie Murray, of Warren, Ohio, and Garfield Grim, of Deer Lick. Twenty-two grandchildren also survive.
