Obituary:

“George Wayne Locke, Sr., 73, of St. Marys, died July 15, 2001, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 20, 1928, at Nine Mile, Pleasants County, to the late Lamen O. and Bonnie Ethel Schultz Locke. He was a licensed electrician having worked for the former Colin Anderson Center, starting when it was the West Virginia Training School. He had been a member of the local union at the former CAC. he operated Locke’s Repair Service and attended St. Marys Church of the Nazarene. His hobbies included making doll furniture and small engines. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Leota C. “Cookie” Locke; one son and daughter-in-law, George Wayne and Sheryl Stewart Locke of Waverly; one grandson, Austin Mitchell Locke of Waverly; 11 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.
Memorial services were Wednesday, July 18, at 2 p.m. at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home in St. Marys with pastor Chuck Rogers officiating.”1248
