Ned was employed by Dun-Mar Oil Company. He was severely injured in an accident at work, and died about 6 months later as a result of the injuries.

“Ned L. Staggers, Aged 28, Dies of Injuries Received Last March
Waynesburg, Nov. 10.—Ned L. Staggers, aged 18, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Staggers, died in the home of his parents Saturday moning, Novembe 9, 1929. His death was due to injuries received while working with a gas engine last March. Mr. Staggers was employed by the Dun-Mar Oil company at the time of the accident. he was never married. Besides his parents, he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: H. I. Staggers, Mrs. John Kerr, Mrs. Osborne Jones, Mr. J. I. Strosnider and Arthur Staggers, of Bristoria; J. A. Staggers, of Cameron, W. Va.; C. R. Staggers, of Messmore, and Susan Staggers, at home. One brother, Leslie, was killed in the World war.
Funeral servicew were held Sunday afternoon, in charge of Rev. A. M. Riggs. Interment was in the Staggers cemetery.”
