From obituary:
“Waynesburg, Nov. 11—
James E. Staggers, 77, died at 1:35 o’clock this afternoon at his home near Bristoria, Holbrook, R. D. 2, following an illness of one year.
Mr. Staggers was born January 20, 1863, in Jackson Township, where he spent his entire life. He followed farming and stock raising and was a son of Abraham and Rebecca Morris Staggers.
In 1881, he married Amanda McVay, who died in 1931.
They were parents of 10 children: Harry I. Staggers, of Bristoria; J. Staggers and Miss Sudie E. Staggers, at home; Mrs. Fannie Strosnider, Holbrook R. D. 2; Mrs. Della Jones, of Holbrook R. D. 2; C. R. Staggers of Graysville, and Arthur B. Staggers, of Sycamore R. D. 1; Mrs. Clythie Kerr, Lawrence L. Staggers and Ned L. Staggers are deceased.
Mr. Staggers was the last of a family of six children.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o’clock Wednesday, November 13, in the Staggers home, in charge of the Rev. J. Nelson Jackaway. Burial will be in the Staggers Cemetery.”
