“Frances L. Grim
Nurse's aide for Waynesburg, Washington nursing homes
Frances L. Grim, 91, formerly of Wind Ridge and Waynesburg, died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2004, in The Greenery, Canonsburg.
She was born September 27, 1913, in Cameron, W.Va., a daughter of George Linley and Martha Ellen Courtwright Grim.
Prior to moving to Waynesburg in 1986, Miss Grim resided most of her life in the Wind Ridge area and was a member of Wind Ridge Christian Church.
She was employed as a nurse's aide most of her working life in Waynesburg and Washington area nursing homes, including the former Hillsview Clinic, Washington, in the 1950s and '60s. She was a caregiver for ill members of her family for several years and also worked at the former Greene Hills Farm, Waynesburg.
She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends as long as her health permitted.
Surviving are three nieces, Martha Augustine of Beech Bottom, W.Va., Carol Burkett of Canonsburg and Betty Ann Ward of Waynesburg (East View); a nephew, George L. Grim III of Youngstown, Ohio; seven great-nieces and nephews; and four great-great-nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, James Lawrence, Glenn Edward and George L. Grim Jr.; a sister, Alice Rutan; and a nephew, Joseph Rutan.
Miss Grim was the last of her immediate family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 20, with the Rev. Bruce R. Judy officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery, Wind Ridge. The family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of your choice.
