Obituary:
“Jessie M. Tilton, 96, of Waynesburg R.D. 4, died at 11:45 a.m. Friday, April 8, 1988, in the Curry Memorial Home, following a lingering illness.
She was born November 26, 1891, in Richhill Township, a daughter of the late Peter and Bertha Courtwright Staggers, and was a lifelong resident of Greene County.
She was a member of the Holbrook Christian Church.
Her husband, Seth G. Tilton, whom she married September 26, 1914, died June 10, 1963.
She resided since 1964 with her daughter, Mary E. Bland, and had moved to the Curry Memorial Home in October 1987.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary E. Bland, of Waynesburg RD 4; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters, a sister, Evelyn Stewart of Waynesburg RD 3; and a brother, Everett Staggers of Waynesburg, RD 5.
Deceased are two daughters, Grace Tennant and Mae Tilton; three brothers, Harry, Elmer and Lemoyne Staggers; and four sisters, Edyth Smith, Cora Fonner, Grace Courtwright and Elizabeth Behm.”231

Burial was in Greene County Memorial Park.231
