Peter was in the 1900 Census of Richhill Twp. Lloyd Roupe says he is buried in Wind Ridge Cemetery.
170Obituary, Waynesburg Republican, Sep. 10, 1940:
“Peter Staggers, aged 82 years, a life-long resident of Richhill Township, died at his home near Ryerson Station, Tuesday evening, September 9, following a two weeks’ illness. Mr. Staggers was a son of Thomas and Sarah Chess Staggers, and was born May 1, 1858, at Bristoria. He was a well known farmer and stock raiser.
In 1889, Mr. Staggers was united in marriage with Bertha Courtwright, who survives, along with the following children: Lemoyne, Harry and Elmer Staggers, and Mrs. Elizabeth Behm, all of Wind Ridge; Everett Staggers, of Rogersville, Mrs. Edyth Smith, of Waynesburg, Mrs. Jessie Tilton, of Sugar Grove, Mrs. Evelyn Stewart, of Bristoria, and Mrs. Grace Courtwright, of Graysville.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, in the South Wheeling Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Russell Standiford. Interment was made in the Wind Ridge cemetery.”

Mr. Staggers was born near Bristoria, May 1, 1858. He was a son of thomas and Sarah Chess Staggers. He was the last of a large family. In 1889, he married Bertha Courtwright, sho survives, with the following children, LeMoyne, Harry, Elmer and Mrs. Elizabeth Behm, all of Wind Ridge; Everett, of Rogersville; Mrs. Edyth Smith of Waynesburg; Mrs. Jessie Tilton, of Sugar Grove; Mrs. Evelyn Stewart, of Bristoria; and Mrs. Grace Courtwright of Graysville.
He was a well known farmer and stock raiser, and attended South Wheeling Baptist Church.
The funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 6. Short services will be held at 1 o’clock in the home with further services at 1:30 o’clock in the South Wheeling Baptist Church in charge of the Rev. Russell Standiford. Burial will be in the Wind Ridge Cemetery.”
