Obituary:
“Wilfred E. Grim, 65, of Fourth Street, Monongahela, died Sunday, April 15, 1990, in Mon Valley Hospital.
He was born May 27, 1924, in New Freeport, a son of Edith Hoy Grim of New Freeport and the late John Walter Grim.
Mr. Grim was a resident of the Monongahela area for the last 30 years. He was a graduate of Waynesburg High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Monongahela, where he served as an elder, Sunday School teacher, and was a member of its Open Door class. Mr. Grim retired from Peoples Natural Gas Co. after 37 years of service. He was a former scoutmaster of Troop 1448 of Monongahela. Mr. Grim was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor in Scouting.
Surviving in addition to his mother are one son, Allen E. Grimof Beaver; two sisters, Mrs. John (Wilma) Lemmon of Daisytown and Mrs. Edward (Gladys) Gaines of New Freeport; four brothers, Harold Grim of Hamburg, N.Y., Robert Grim of Columbus, Ohio, Karl Grim of Hundred, W. Va., and Kenneth Grim of New Freeport; and three grandchildren, Robert, Barbara and Steven Grim.
Deceased are his wife, helena Hughes Grim, who died October 2, 1989; and one brother, Wayne Grim.”
