8Obituary, The Valley Independent (Monessen, PA), Friday, August 5, 1994:
“Mary Lou Acklin, 61, of Dawson R.D. 1, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 1994, at 3:30 p.m. in the Highlands Hospital and Health Center, Connellsville.
She was born June 10, 1933, in Brownsville, a daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Marshall Rockwell.
She was a member of St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis.
Survivors include her husband, Robert A. Acklin Sr.; two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Sandra) Alexander Jr. of Smock and Mrs. Edward (Mary Ann) Kerestes of Belle Vernon R.D. 2; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert A. and Patricia Acklin Sr. of Dawson R.D. 1, Ronald A.Acklin of Natrona, and Roger A. and Alice Acklin Sr. of Brownsville; eight grandchildren, Mrs. Carl (Sherry) Koch, Harry A. Alexander III, Roger A. Acklin Jr., Robert A. Acklin III, Danielle Acklin, Christine Hamer, and Edward and Victoria Kerestes; and one brother, Alvin Rockwell of Youngstown, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William and George Rockwell; and two sisters, Ruby Smith and Della Muchisko.
Friends will be received in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home Inc., Perryopolis, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday until 11 a.m.”
