Obituary, The Evening Standard (Uniontown, PA), Monday, December 14, 1964:
“Acklin, Wilbur, Sr.—Aged 62, a resident of 320 Main St., West Brownsville, died at 4:45 p.m.., Saturday, December 12, 1964, in the Brownsville General Hospital, after a brief illness. He was a retired and well known painter. He was born in Brownsville,July 15, 1902, the son of the late Duncan and Nora Kelly Acklin. He was a member of Painters Union Local No. 133. His wife, Mrs. Rose Dzurik, preceded him in death on September 26, 1957. He is survived by these children: Wilbur Acklin, Jr., Brownsville; Mrs. Eleanor Ehlers, W. Brownsville; Robert, Sr., of Layton, Pa. and Mrs. Margaret Sawyers, Brownsville; nineteen grandchildren and three brothers: Calvin, Washington, PA.; John, Brownsville; Griffith of Brownsville; two sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Mitchell of Rayland, O.,; Mrs. Lillian Grimm of Pittsburgh. Friends are being received in the J. W. Kisinger Funeral Home, 515 Front St., Brownsville, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Dallas Butler officiating. Burial will be in the Bridgeport Cemetery.”
