Obituary, The News-Messenger (Fremont, OH), Tuesday, July 31, 1979, p. 8:
Margaret D. Cooper, 80, 125 S. Granville Blvd., died Monday at the Parkview Nursing Home where she had been a patient since May 30.
Mrs. Cooper was the daughter of John Wesley and Nancy Jane (Fouts) Cunningham. She was born in Morgan County, Ohio, Aug. 29, 1898.
Surviving are her widower, Clarence R. Cooper, whom she married June 26, 1926, in McConnelsville, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Raymona) Anderson of Sandusky and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
A member of the Memorial United Methodist CHurch, She also belonged to the Lincoln Rebecca Lodge, Eastern Star No. 133, the American Associaion of University Women and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a past matron of the Eastern Star in 1941.
A graduate of Muskingum College, she attended Ohio University, Chicago University and Ohio State University. She received her bachelor of science in 1958 from Bowling Green State University. She taught school in McConnelsville for eight years and in Fremont for 20 1/2 years. She served as a substitute on the elementary level at all the schools in Fremont, but mostly at Stamm School.
Friends may call at the Keller and Son Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Charles Cordle at 10:30 a.m. Thursday from the Keller and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be to the Memorial United Methodist Church or to the Sandusky County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
