Floyd was living at his parents’ place in Morris Twp., Greene Co., PA in 1918 when his father died. When his mother died in 1927 he was living in the Deer Lick area.
9Obituary, Democrat Messenger, Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania, Tuesday, January 27, 1948, pages 1 and 5:
“Over-Exertion Causes Death
A heart attack brought on by over-exertion was thought to have caused the death at 9 a. m. yesterday, Jan. 26, 1948, of Floyd Inghram ‘Buster’ Rush, 50, of Sycamore, R. D. 1.
An employe (sic) of the Carnegie Natural Gas Company, Mr. Rush went to work yesterday on the G. M. Rush farm, near Rogersville. While walking up a hill to the well on the property, another of the company’s employes (sic), M. K. Troutman, of Waynesburg, heard a groan behind him. Turning, he saw Mr. Rush, who had been climbing behind him, lying on the ground. Taken to a doctor, he was pronounced dead.
Born April 11, 1897, in Morris Township, the deceased was a son of the late Andrew Jackson and Louisa Morris Rush. With the exception of the last two years, he spent all his life in Morris Township. He had been an employe (sic) of the Carnegie Natural Gas Company since 1936. He was a member of B. P. O. E. No. 757, Waynesburg, and the Greene County Sportsmen’s Club.
His wife, Goldie Powers Rush, survives him. He is also survived by one son, Ralph Rush, with the Army in Germany; two step-daughters, Mrs. William Hartzell, of Rogersville, and Mrs. Virginia Rockwell, of Texas; two brothers, Artemus and Alvah Rush, both of Nineveh, and one sister, Mrs. Valda Johnson, of Washington.

“RUSH - Funeral services for Floyd Inghram ÒBusterÓ Rush, of Sycamore, R. D. 1, who died Monday, Jan. 28, 1948, will be held Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 2:30 p. m. in the Scott Funeral Home, Rogersville, with the Rev. L. W. Peters, of Nineveh, in charge. Burial in Rosemont Cemetery, Rogersville. Friends are being received in the funeral home. Scott Funeral Services, Rogersville, in charge.
