“John E. Smith, 54 of 71 Virginia Park Road, Wheeling died Wednesday in Wheeling Hospital. He was a member of our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, an employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., Benwood plant and a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Mary Yankavitch Smith; a son, David L. of West Alexander, Pa.; his father, Homer B. Smith of Wheeling; a brother, Gay H. of New Orleans, La.; two sister, Margaret A. Smith of Wheeling and Mrs. Francis (Delores) Bosold of New Comerstown, Ohio; one grandchild. Friends received at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Str., Wheeling 7-9 P.M. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Friday. Arrangements are incomplete”1836
