This Indenture made this 19th day of June in the year of our lord 1847 between Isaac More and Elizabeth his wife of the county of Tyler and state of Virginia of the one part and Levi Grim and Harvy Grim of the other part witnesseth that the said Isaac Moore and Elizabeth his wife for and on consideration of the sum of Four Hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said Levi and Harvey Grim the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Levi and Harvey Grim their heirs and assigns forever all the following described land or parcel of land lying and being in the county and state aforesaid and is bounded as followeth, court [?-difficult to read] Beginning at a hickory corner to Stouts survey of 117 acres, Thence N 5∞ E 12 poles to a white oak. Thence N 78∞ W to and with a line of said Moore’s survey 186 poles to a chesnut oak. Thence south 16 poles to a white oak on a Ridge. Thence S 80∞ W 20 poles to a stake. Thence N 80∞ W 20 poles a Dogwood. Thence S 70 W 76 poles to a chesnut oak. Thence south 5∞ E 29 poles to a black oak. Thence S 20 E crossing Needs run 180 poles to a stake, in a line of A W Duty’s 300 acre survey. Thence with the same N 79 E 100 poles to a stake in said line. Thence N 5∞ E 70 poles to a white oak in a line of said 117 acre survey of Stouts. Thence with the same N 78 E 109 poles to a white oak. Thence N 5 E 80 poles to the Beginning containing 300 acres be the same more or less. To Have and To Hold the above described tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances unto the said Levi and Harvy Grim [difficult to read; may be “to the only prop in use and bik oof] of the said Levi and Harvy Grim their heirs and assigns forever, and they the said Isaac Moore and Elizabeth his wife for themselves their heirs executor or administrators do covenant promise and agree to and with the said Levi and Harvy Grim their heirs or assigns that they the said Isaac Moore and Elizabeth the above and foregoing described tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances unto the said Levi and Harvey Grim their heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend against all persons and claims whatsoever.
In Witness wereof they the said Isaac Moore and Elizabeth his wife have hereunto set their hand and affixed their seals the day and date first above written.

Levi was killed when he was crushed by a tree he was cutting that had fallen across the road just a short way from his house.

Recorder’s office fo Tyler County, Monday, May 13th, 1867 (p. 210)
“ It appearing from a paper writing from under the hand of Barbary Grim, widow of Levi Grim deceased, that she the said Barbary Grim resigns her right to the administration of the estate of her late husband in favor of Jesse Grim. It was ordered that certificates be granted the said Jesse Grim, for obtaining letters of administration of the estate of said Levi Grim deceased, upon his executing a bond in the penalty of twelve hundred dollars with approved security & qualifying as required by law; whereupon, the said Jesse grim appeared in the Recorder’s office aforesaid and made oath as such administrator, and together with John Bullman as his security, entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty aforesaid, with conditions according to law.

On motion of Jesse Grim, administrator of the estate of Levi Grim deceased, it is ordered that Perry Lough, Andrew L. Corbly, B. B. Bond, and John Bullman or any three of them, after being sworn for the purpose [?] appraise in current money the personal estate of the said deceased and return an inventory thereof from under their hands to the Recorder of Tyler County.
