“Christine Ruby Staggers
Grew up near Wind Ridge
Christine Ruby Staggers, 81, of Cape Coral, Fla., died Monday, April 10, 2006.
She was born September 17, 1924, in Wheeling, W.Va., a daughter of Herbert and Ruby Scherich.
She grew up near Wind Ridge, where she met the love of her life, Kermit. They married in 1945 and spent 60 wonderful years together.
She relocated 13 different times due to her husband's corporate promotions, finally retiring to Cape Coral.
She devoted her life to her husband and their four children. She loved to cook, travel and be with her family.
Surviving are her husband, Kermit; three sons, Dr. Kermit (June) Staggers of Sioux Falls, S.D., David (Melodee) Staggers of Indianapolis, Ind., and Bruce (Kim) Staggers of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; a daughter, Marcia (Robert) Fain of Cape Coral; and a brother, Francis Scherich of Austin, Texas. She will be greatly missed by her 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., the time of services, Friday, April 14, in the chapel of Coral Ridge Funeral Home, Cape Coral. Interment will be in Coral Ridge Cemetery.”
