Obituary:
“Le Moyne Staggers, aged 74 years, of Wind Ridge, died at 10:05 a.m. Monday, August 16, 1965, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital, where he had been seriously ill for a month.
He was born November 8, 1890, near Graysville, a son of Peter and Bertha Courtwright Staggers. He resided most of his life at Wind Ridge where he was a rig building contractor and for the last few years prior to retirement was a highway construction foreman.
Mr. Staggers was a member of the Christian Church and at the time of his death was serving as a deacon and trustee in the Wind Ridge Christian Church. He was a member of F. and A. M. 153, Ancient Scottish Rite, and the Pittsburgh Consistory. He was a 32nd degree mason.
He married Anna Jones Staggers on August 19, 1922.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Marjorie, wife of George Bissett, of Waynesburg, and Juanita, wife of Arthur Staggers, of Rockville, Md.; one son, Kermit, of Pontiac, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Jessie Tilton, of Waynesburg; Mrs. Elizabeth Behm, of Holbrook; Mrs. Edyth Smith, of Waynesburg; and Evelyn, wife of Ed Stewart, of Cameron Star Route, Waynesburg; three brothers, Everett, of Cameron Star Route, Waynesburg, and Elmer and Harry, of Wind Ridge.
Two sisters, Mrs. Cora Fonner and Mrs. Grace Courtwright, are deceased.
