Anna Mae Staggers
Active member of Wind Ridge Christian Church
Anna Mae Staggers, 95, of Wind Ridge, died at 1:05 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 1996, in the Franklin Care Center, Waynesburg.
She was born April 5, 1901, in Richhill Township [Enon], a daughter of Mathias Clark and Katherine Younken Jones. She had resided in Wind Ridge since 1922.
Mrs. Staggers was a member of Wind Ridge Christian Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher, board member and member of the Missionary Society. She was a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union.
She was also a member of the Richhill Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, the Ross Hill Garden Club and the Wind Ridge Needle Club.
Mrs. Staggers was a former reporter of the column "Wind Ridge Notes" for the 'Observer-Reporter' and the 'Claysville Recorder'.
On August 22, 1922, she married Lemoyne Staggers, who died August 16, 1965.
Surviving are two daughters, Marjorie E. Bisset of Waynesburg and Juanita Staggers of Rockville, Md.; one son, Kermit L. Staggers of Cape Coral, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are one granddaughter, Elizabeth Marjorie Clark; two brothers, Vaughn and Carl Jones; and one sister, Gertrude Burns.
Mrs. Staggers was the last of her immediate family.
