Obituary:
“Funeral services will be held Tuesday after, Jan. 16, for Mrs. Mary Hughes Staggers, aged 44, wife of East Staggers, of Sugar Grove, Aleppo township, who died at 2:45 A.M. Sunday, Jan. 14, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital. The rites will be held at 1 o’clock in the Staggers home with Rev. A. M. Riggs, of Wind Ridge officiating. Internment will be in the Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Staggers had been ill four months. A daughter of T. J. Hughes and Eliza Lewis Hughes; she was born May 5, 1889, in Aleppo township and spent all her life in that location. She was a member of the Church of God at Sugar Grove. Besides her husband she leaves one sister, Mrs. Olive Meighen, wife of Mark Meighen, of West Alexander.”432
