170Obituary:
“George W. Staggers, 84 of 244 First Avenue, Waynesburg, died at 3:10 p.m. Friday, July 30, 1965, at Blairsville following a lingering illness.
He was born December 30, 1880, at Jackson Township to the late Thomas and Rebecca Rush Staggers and resided in Jackson Township most of his life. The last four years were spent in Waynesburg.
He was employed by the South Penn Oil Company for 43 years and after retirement worked as a carpenter until three years ago. He was a past member of the Bristoria Knights of Pithias and a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows 469.
Surviving are his widow, Zella Kerr Staggers, whom he married June 15, 1910, one daughter, Mrs. Raymon (Gertrude) Dukate of Waynesburg, one son, Howard of Waynesburg R.D. 2, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Norton Wright of Waynesburg. One sister is deceased.”

Lantz Funeral Home, Rogersville, where services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday with Rev. J. W. Lofgren in charge. Burial at Fairview Cemetery near Wind Ridge.”
