Obituary:
“Harry Staggers, 70, of Graysville, R.D. 1 died at 8:05 a.m. Thursday, Januray 13, at his home of an apparent heart attack.
He was born April 19, 1901, at Graysville, a son of the late Peter and Bertha Courtwright Staggers. His wife, Mary McCracken Staggers, who he married July 27, 1929, survives.
Also surviving are four daughters; Mrs. Willis (Imogene) Fletcher, Ravenna, Ohio; Mrs. Thomas (Bertha) Scherich, Prosperity; Mrs. Jerry (Doris) Grim, Graysville and Mrs. Kenneth (Evelyn) Welling of Ravenna, Ohio. Four sisters Mrs. Jessie Tilton, of Cameron, West Virginia, R.D. 1; Mrs. Elizabeth Behm, Mrs. Edyth Smith and Mrs. Evelyn Stewart all of Waynesburg and two brothers Everett of Cameron Star route and Elmer of West Finley R.D. 2 survives as well as eleven grandchildren.
One sone, Joseph, a brother LeMoyne and two sisters, Mrs. Cora Fenner [sic] and Mrs. Grace Courtwright all preceded him in death.
For the early part of his life he had been a rig builder and in later years became a farmer, raising Charolais cattle and sheep. He was a member of the Greene County Wool Growers Association. He also was a member of the South Wheeling Baptist Church.
STAGGERS - Friend of Harry Staggers, 70, of GraysvilleR.D. 1, who died Thursday January 13 are being received from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday in the Robert L. Lantz Funeral Home, Rogersville, where services will be held Sunday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Garvin M. Hupp officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.”
