“Elmer B. Staggers, 72, of 260 Crago Ave., Waynesburg, formerly of Wind Ridge, died Saturday, March 5, 1983, at 8:25 P.M. in Greene County Memorial Hospital. His death was due to an apparent heart attack. He was born July 31, 1910, in Jackson Township, a son of Peter and Bertha Courtwright Staggers.
Mr. Staggers was a graduate of Richhill Township High School; he was a veteran of World War II and a member of the South Wheeling Baptist Church. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by Mid-Penn Telephone Corp for 26 years.
On September 16, 1933, he married Irene Cunningham Staggers, who survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Everett Staggers of Waynesburg R.D. 5;two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Tilton of Wind Ridge, R.D. 1; Mrs. Evelyn Stewart of Waynesburt R.D. 6; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are four sisters and two brothers.”1509
