170Obituary:
“William A. Huffman, 72, of Pine Bank, died in his home at 5:30 P.M. Saturday, Nov. 19, 1960. Although he had been in failing health for some time, his death was unexpected.
Mr. Huffman was a son of J. C. and Alice Taylor Huffman and was born March 16, 1888, in Jackson Township. His wife, Cora Staggers Huffman, died Sept. 8, 1932.
Mr. Huffman resided all his life in Greene County. He was a graduate of Duffs Business College, Pittsburgh, and in early life taught school in Jackson Township. He also was a tonship auditor for many years.
He later worked at the Union Deposit and Trust Company Bank in Waynesburg, but for the last 37 years was a supervisor in this area for the Cleveland Cameron Gas Company.
Mr. Huffman was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church and an honorary member of Knights of Pythias Lodge 296, at Pine Bank.
Surviving are two daughters, Esther, wife of Edward Smith, of
Waynesburg, and Eleanor, wife of Charles S. Carpenter, of Pine Bank; two sons, Arthur and Paul Huffman, both of Waynesburg; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Ella, wife of O. R. Hughes, of Waynesburg, and Belle, wife of M. H. Kenner, of Brave.
A son, Wilbur, died September 25, 1959, and a brother is also deceased.”
