Obituary, The Morning Herald (Uniontown, PA), Mon., Jan. 5, 1959, p. 11:
“Acklin, Mrs. Nora — Aged 81, a well known resident of Brownsville for the past sixty-one years, passed away, Saturday, January 3, 1959 at 10:45 p.m. in her home, 412 Huron Ave. She was the widow of Duncan J. Acklin, a well known painter of Brownsville for many years and preceded her in death September 6, 1955. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Brownsville. She is survived by five sons, Wilbur W. and Ockle, Brownsville; John, Knoxville addition to Brownsville; Calvin, Pittsburgh; Griffith, Brownsville; three daughters, Mrs. Arless (Sylvia) Mitchell, Rayland, O.; Mrs. Lillian Grimm, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Mabel Bookhardt, Brownsville; twenty-six grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was also predeceased by five brothers, five sisters, three daughters and two sons. Friends will be received after 7:30 p.m. today in the Kisinger Funeral Home, Brownsville, where services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m., with Rev. Frederick Wright, pastor of the Brownsville First Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Bridgeport Cemetery, Brownsville.”

Mrs. Nora Acklin, 81, a Brownsville resident for the past 61 years, died at 10:45 p.m. Saturday at her home. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Brownsville.
Surviving are five sons, Wilbur W., Griffith and Ockle of Brownsville, John of Knoxville addition to Brownsville, and Calvin of Pittsburgh, three daughters, Mrs. Arless (Sylvia) Mitchell of Rayland, Ohio, Mrs. Lillian Grimm of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Mabel Bookhardt of Brownsville, 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Kisinger funeral home in Brownsville, with the Rev. Frederick Wright, pastor of the Brownsville First Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Bridgeport Cemetery at Brownsville.
Nora had no tombstone.
131Duncan and Nora must have had one additional daughter. Eleanor Ehlers and Griffey Acklin do not know about Opal.
131,13 Or maybe I was confused and thought Ockle was supposed to be Opal, and later found out I was wrong, but still kept Opal.
