Obituary:
“Milo L. (Mike) Staggers, 80, of West Finley, R. D. 2, died at 9 P.M. Thursday, May 11, 1989 in Greene County Memorial Hospital.
A son of W. T. and Mattie B. Couch Staggers, he was born July 8, 1908, in Richhill Township, where he resided all his life. He served as a private in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Staggers was a self employed carpenter who worked as a carpenter at Curry Memorial Home for eight years prior to his retirement in 1977. He was Protestant.
His first wife, Sarah Margaret Sanders, died in 1943. His second wife, Cleo Allum Carroll Staggers, whom he married March 8, 1947, survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Duane L. (Mary) Kiger of Prosperity, Mrs. Albert J. (Carol Anna) Dye of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Mrs. Harold (Brenda) Finnegan of Wind Ridge; two sons, Benny I. Staggers of Washington and Michael L. Staggers at home; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Bob (Sara) Clutter of West Finley, Mrs. Kenneth (Joanne) Hamilton of Graysville R. D. 1, Mrs. Carl (Mary Lou) Amos of Sycamore R. D. 1, and Mrs. Harry (Jean) Davis of Moundsville, W. Va.; two stepsons, James H. (Bud) Carroll at home and Harry R. Carroll of West Finley; 25 grandchildren; 12 greant-grandchildren; a sister, Imogene Tustin of McMurray; and a brother, Oakley (Bill) Staggers of Graysville.
A son, Harold Dale Staggers, died in 1978. Also deceased are four brothers, Dewey, Albert, Stacy and Glenn Staggers.”
